1 Timothy 6: 12Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 In the sight of God, who gives life to everything
I read these verses dealing with our faith Wednesday and was reminded once again how much of a battle we are in for our faith. Then today again I was struck with the battle of it. Since we have heard of Addie's struggles I have had no problems trusting God. He gave me life and He gave her life. If He is the giver of life how much more must He care than I care. I love that about Him how we cannot even comprehend how much He feels for us. It has been an emotional weekend though. We went back home to Indiana to get anointed at our home church where both Mike and I had grown up and our families still attend. We got anointed for healing for our little Addie. We are fighting daily to hold onto the promises of God and not get lost in the day to day struggles or adjust our focus from what really has eternal consequences . The anointing service yesterday was so powerful and God's Spirit was so prevelant moving in the hearts of so many. We were surrounded by so many family members and friends, crying out to God with earnest hearts as it says in Jeremiah 29:12-14a "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord." We found God Saturday with the family singing, praising, praying and He was found again on Sunday morning as we worshiped Him in His sanctuary at South Lake. Pastor shared the verses from James 5:13" Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." And we are holding on in faith that God has heard our cries on behalf of Addie as they went up from the church at South Lake, our church in Peoria, the church in Columbus where my cousin was anointed on Sunday for healing for Addie, and from all the others where Addie's story has been shared. God is and will answer our prayers as we cry out to Him. He is a loving God and cannot help but come to those who earnestly seek Him. As we seek Him we pray for healing and to see His power but more than that we want to see His glory, in Matthew we are told to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done. So we have called and will continue to call on our Father God in Heaven for His power, presence, and will to be done in our family and in Addie's life. We head to the cardiologist appointment tomorrow joyfully anticipating and expecting to see God working in our little girl. God's ways may not always be our ways but as Deuteronomy 32:4 says "He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He." So we will continue praying, hoping and trusting for that is what faith is and we are living on faith and faith alone. Faith in God is what gives us not only peace as we pass through this time but joy and the ability to praise the One who holds us in His hands.
He has got it. He has Addie in His hands. Praying. Love you guys.
