Today we went for a loop we were not expecting. We had been sent to a specialist for the possibility of a club foot on Addie and so we went to have it checked out to find out that Addie not only has severely clubbed feet but they will require surgery shortly after birth. She also has some deformities on her arms. Therefore all limbs are affected making it appear to be some sort of genetic issue but as of now they are uncertain of what it is. They also saw some concern with the placement of her heart and we are being sent to a Cardiologist specialist next Tuesday. Once we know what the heart issue is we can either begin testing to narrow down the possible genetic issues or we can wait until she is born because it will not change the course of action during the pregnancy. There is a problem with the placement of the placenta that could cause lack of blood and size restrictions to her growth which may lead to different actions as the time goes; for now the doctors are going to keep a close eye on that issue. We see the specialist again in 3 weeks on Sept 10 to re-check the amniotic fluid due to placenta placement. We will have a carefully watched pregnancy and some difficulties afterwards. While we are heartbroken for our baby girl and the struggles we will have, we are holding on to the Lord and His promises for us and for her.
Psalms 139:13-14 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well
Whatever we may face God knit her together just as He knit each of us and she is no less wonderful or precious.
